The Crux of Mahāmudrā: the Vigor that Fuels the Flame of Insight

In the old days of India, Mahāmudrā yogis and yoginis often spent their days along the banks of Ganges River, living a life that seemed no different from that of ordinary people, yet deep in their hearts’ sat the crux of Mahāmudrā.

The joys and sorrows that naturally arise in the mundane, daily grind of life provided them the fuel necessary to feed the fire of wisdom.

Contemporary Mahāmudrā siddha, Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, lives his own quiet, ordinary life in a city, just like the the Mahāmudrā practitioners of old did on the banks of the Mother Ganges. It is only within this seemingly mundane life that the indispensable fuel to alight the view of wisdom is abundant.

In the 21st century, our much revered teacher, Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, has continued to utter the whispered phrases that carry on the unique style of this lineage.

Like a tiny spoon of sugar mixed with burning chilies the essence of Mahamudra continues — The Crux of Mahāmudrā: the Vigor that Fuels the Flame of Insight.

Introduction

The Crux of Mahâmudrä Vigor that Fuels the Flame of Insight

In the old days in India, many Mahamudra yogis and yoginis resided along the Ganges River, living a life that seemed no different from that of ordinary but deep in their hearts sits the crux of Mahamudra.

The happiness and suffering that come and go day in and day out provided them such an amount of energy enough to set the fire of wisdom on

Contemporary Mahamudra  Mahasiddha Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche lives a quiet life in modern cities, just like the many Mahamudra practitioners did next to the Ganges River.

Such a way of life may look as if it couldn't be more ordinary but it's abundant.

And this time, our much revered DPR has uttered out from his very Vajra mind the phrases that carry the longstanding style of this lineage.

It’s a flavor like when you mix a tiny spoon of sugar with very little chili and those are the essence of our Mahamudra teachings-- The Crux of Mahâmudrä Vigor that Fuels the Flame of Insight.
